DAY 1: Getting Started with Avid Media Composer
Goal: Understand Avid’s interface, organize projects like a pro, and begin your first edit.

✅ Setting up a new project: format, resolution, and frame rate
✅ Understanding bins, folders, and Avid’s media management system
✅ AMA Linking vs Importing: best practices and pitfalls
✅ Organizing media: creating bin structures, using labels and custom columns
✅ Marking in/out points, creating subclips, and basic trimming
✅ Assembling your first scene using overwrite and insert edits
✅ Introduction to the timeline and audio tracks
✅ Exporting a rough cut: understanding export settings and formats
📂 Assignment: Organize media and edit a 30-second scene using provided footage
DAY 2: Editing Foundations & Workflow Efficiency
Goal: Build your first complete sequence and gain fluency in Avid’s editing tools and layout
customization.

✅ Working with audio: adjusting levels, panning, and using keyframes
✅ Titles and basic effects: using Title Tool and transitions

✅ Exporting for review and upload: H.264, QuickTime, and review presets
