DAY 1: Multicam, ScriptSync & Advanced Editing Tools
Goal: Learn to manage complex timelines, sync multi-camera interviews, and speed up edits
using real-world Avid techniques.
✅ Creating Multicam sequences: syncing with timecode and waveform
✅ Multicam editing: switching angles, refining edits, and collapsing sequences
✅ ScriptSync overview: importing transcripts and syncing dialogue to script
✅ Subclip and group clip management for long interviews
✅ Using locators, color labels, and markers for editor-producer workflows
✅ Advanced trim mode: slipping, sliding, and dynamic trimming
✅ Using the Find tool, PhraseFind, and custom metadata to locate footage quickly
✅ Review and export for feedback using AAFs and review-friendly formats
📂 Assignment: Build and edit a 2-camera interview with ScriptSync and multicam

DAY 2: Collaboration, Audio Mixing & Project Optimization
Goal: Explore tools that make Avid a broadcast standard—collaboration, automation, and
audio mastery.
✅ Introduction to Avid’s shared project environment: working across teams
✅ Media Management: relinking, consolidating, transcoding, and exporting AAFs
✅ Audio editing: EQ, compression, pan automation, keyframing, and submixes
✅ Using the Audio Ducking tool for voice/music balancing
✅ Title Tool vs. New Titler+
✅ Understanding the Avid MediaFiles folder and troubleshooting offline media
✅ Exporting for broadcast, OTT, and archive: codecs, MXF, and ProRes
✅ Overview of shared storage: Unity, Nexis, NAS vs. DAS in post-production
✅ Final polish: using RTAS effects, audio mixing, and color correction basics
📂 Final Project: Edit a 2-minute multicam interview scene with full audio mix, script sync,
and layered effects for delivery
